On Tuesday 24 April, the San Jose City Council will vote on a series of measures that could have a huge impact on renters. Will you join us at the City Council meeting to show your support for affordable housing and renters' rights?
San Jose's rent-restricted stock is at risk. Current policy incentivizes evictions and demolitions so that landlords can evade rent restrictions. Join us on Tuesday as we fight to protect San Jose's existing rent-controlled apartments and ensure there is no loss of affordable housing in San Jose.
But we're also fighting for new protections for San Jose renters and banning landlords from intimidating tenants by threatening to call immigration authorities.
Together, we can help provide some stability and security for renting families in San Jose.
But the powerful landlord lobby are fighting to protect their profits – and have already sued the City Council to try to get around rent stabilization measures.
The City Council has a choice to make: stand up for renters, or cave in to landlords. Will you join us and the rest of the Silicon Valley Renters' Rights Coalition on Tuesday to encourage Councilmembers to stand up for people rather than profits?
