Google wants to build its new 20,000-employee mega-campus in San Jose – and we’re now at a critical stage in the campaign. It’s been six months since the mega-campus project was announced – and still Google and City of San Jose have failed to address the potential impacts this project will have on our city.
Where tech has gone, rent increases, evictions, homelessness and insecure, low-paid jobs with few benefits have normally followed. We want something different for our city.
If Google wants to build a new campus here, our community expects them to be a good neighbor.
Rally with us at 5PM on Wednesday 24 January at San Jose City Hall to show our City Council that the voices of our community cannot be ignored any longer.
Show them that we expect our City to stand up for San Jose in the negotiations. And show them that we won’t let tech-fuelled gentrification continue to break up families, tear apart communities and increase homelessness in our city.
